I liked seeing the modern pictures with the “shimmer” in contradiction to ancient energy-body-superhero-like pictures. I like your accessible approach to explaining and illustrating this!
It’s interesting that “nervous system static” is a term that resonates with others. I have neuropathy and the symptoms I experience with that feel static-y (a pins needles feeling) are really uncomfortable in an awful way, in contrast to what you call the shimmer, which feels more like a “hollow river” more associated with a combination of electricity and water in my mind, but also matter-less. The shimmer is not unpleasant at all while the static is markedly so, and because of this, I prefer to differentiate them. Curious as to your thoughts on this?
